Happening’s at SIMER?
Outbound Trip
“Learning” as we call it is not only related to what we learn inside the well organized classroom discussions. It’s more like learning from a point of view of experiencing, exploring ourselves through team building. In a nutshell we can say it knows about our inner strength, capabilities, things that are going to make us different from the crowd.
The same learning’s with lots of experiences & memories through the outbound batch 2018-2020 trip from SIMER. The students of PGDM1 had this experience which will always be cherished.
Girls Cricket Tournament
Sports develops the team spirit and plays a vital role in physical as well as mental health of a person .The same team spirit with a lot of enjoyment & learning’s was made through “Girls cricket Match” organised by SPORTS COMMITTEE.
Where girls from PGDM 1 & PGDM 2 Played & gave the best of their performance .It was great initiative taken by the SPORTS COMMITTEE to build the sportsmanship amongst all the players.
DEBATE: STATUE OF UNITY
I agree, that today world’s tallest statue is in our country, so respectful pride moment. It has more important than a mere statue it includes many more things: World’s best Inhibition narrating the story of Indian National Movement, the unification of India & sardar’s contribution Memorial Garden Bridge connecting Sadhu Island with the mainland Memories & visitors center, Development of banks of River Narmada up to Bharuch Education Research center & knowledge city.
Statue of unity is made at a cost of Rs 3000 crore & if we see ROI then according to a survey from GITCO the number of foreign tourists grew by 7% while the number of tourists visiting from other Indian state grew by 23%. Amongst domestic tourists 24.5 million tourists from within Gujarat toured the state in the last year, while 7.4 million tourists from other Indian states visited Gujrat, so assume 1 million yearly visitors & all 1 million people buy the costlier ticket cost Rs 300. Now if we multiply 300 *1 we will get 300 million which is equal to Rs 35 Crores yearly revenue generated by Statue of Unity.
Building Schools is important, but along with that “Gareeb Ka Pet Bharna” is also important this project will open new door of employment. The statue has been described as a tribute to Indian engineering skills. Building signature and iconic projects has intrinsic and intangible value addition to country’s economy in terms of tourism, employment generation and branding of the country. Now just have a look at the above statement and ask yourself don’t you feel proud while knowing that statue is the biggest asset to India in tourism wise.
T.Dimple (PGDM 2)
I disagree, As we Know the statue of unity is described & presented as a tribute to the iron man of India Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel . The height of the statue depicting the 597 ft ,located in Narmada district of Gujarat at a river island facing the narmada dam. The statue was unveiled on October 31 2018 by the prime minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. The statue has two sides one side it has set a world record of the longest statue & on the other hand it effected the lives of those people whose land were acquired for making the space for the statue. Around 2900 crore rupees has been wasted which would somehow be collected in the form of tax from the general public by our government. In addition to my statement I would like to elaborate it with few points
EFFECT ON LIVELIHOOD OF VILLAGERS- A drive was started to support for the construction of the statue. This drive helped in collecting the required iron for the construction of the statue. Farmers were asked to donate their used farming instruments, through this 5000 tons were collected.
UTILISATION OF MONEY FOR OTHER PRIORITIES WERE IGNORED- The money should have been channelized in many better ways such as women safety, education, agriculture, donation to the north-east part of India as they have suffered from heavy floods.
Considering all these issues I think the money has been waste because if the government really wanted to give a tribute to sardar Vallabh bhai patel it should have done more for the betterment of the citizens of India especially for the farmers.

Stephen Gary Wozniak was born in August 11, often referred to by the nickname Woz, is an American inventor, electronics engineer, programmer, philanthropist, and technology entrepreneur who co-founded Apple, Inc. in 1976, which later became the world’s largest information technology company by revenue. He and Apple co-founder Steve Jobs are widely recognized as pioneers of the personal computer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s.
It’s a lot easier to think of an app and wife. it, than it is to convince people to want it, publicity is crucially important. Marketing is the most important thing.” This is one of the quote by Steve Woznaik which somehow gives a glimpse of how much he gives importance towards the Marketing.
Steve Wozniak designed and built a “Cream Soda” a self-taught project on computer with his friend Bill Fernandez. He later re-enrolled at De Anza College and transferred to University of California, Berkeley in 1971. Before focusing his attention on Apple, he was employed at Hewlett-Packard (HP) where he designed calculators. It was during this time that he befriended Steve Jobs.
How He Began With Apple– On April 1, 1976, Jobs and Wozniak formed Apple Computer (now called Apple Inc.) along with administrative supervisor Ronald Wayne, whose participation in the new venture was short lived. Wozniak resigned from his job at Hewlett-Packard and became the vice president in charge of research and development at Apple. He and Jobs decided on the name “Apple” shortly after Jobs returned from an apple orchard in Oregon In 1975, Wozniak began designing and developing the computer that would eventually make him famous, the Apple I. On June 29 of that year, he tested his first working prototype, displaying a few letters and running sample programs. It was the first time in history that a character displayed on a TV screen was generated by a home computer.
After his career at Apple, Wozniak enrolled at UC Berkeley to complete his degree. Because his name was well known at this point, he enrolled under the name Rocky Raccoon Clark, which is the name listed on his diploma. Despite leaving Apple as a day-to-day employee in 1985, Wozniak chose to never remove himself from the official employee list, and continues to represent the company at events or in interviews. Today he receives a stipend from Apple for this role, estimated to be $120,000 per year.
Wozniak was one of the pioneers instrumental in getting the technology to the masses and bringing in the personal computer revolution of 1970s.
